Reiterations & Reminders: In case you missed it last time
Thanks to those of you who have donated so far! Hal is smiling down upon you!
Hal O’Boyle Memorial & Fundraiser
Thank You for Honoring Hal O’Boyle
Thank you to everyone who joined us last month to honor our dearly departed Hal O’Boyle, and to support his beloved wife Sally, who was deeply moved by the outpouring of love from the MAFA community. You have all been such an important part of their lives over the past four and a half years.
We were humbled by how many of you came, the beautiful flowers and delicious food you brought, and the heartfelt memories you shared. Your presence meant the world.
Many of you have asked how you can help Sally during this difficult time. We regret not mentioning during the service that a GiveSendGo fundraiser has been set up to assist her with over $17,000 in out-of-pocket expenses she incurred while fighting to save Hal’s life.
Thankfully, Sally will not be responsible for the much larger medical debts that were covered by Medicare or discharged. However, the uncovered expenses still weigh heavily, especially as Hal was the primary breadwinner, using his expertise to help clients fight IRS injustices.
If you would like to contribute, please visit Hal’s Recovery Fund.
If you weren’t able to attend Thursday’s gathering, you can still view the photo slideshow of Hal’s life with Sally HERE.
A special thank-you to Trish for creating the beautiful slideshow, printing the photos, and helping Kathy with the lovely flower arrangements.
Tucker Carlson Dr. Patric Soon-Shiong Interview: You are being lied to about cancer, how it is caused, and how to stop it. 1 hour 49 minutes. Listen in segments while driving if you must. So interesting and relevant to ALL of us. According to Dr. Soon-Shiong, it is not just the injected who are at risk for turbo cancers, rather also those of us who got Covid, which is most of us. We need to learn more about the solution, which he addresses toward the end.

Derek Nance Trial Update
Derek Nance’s trial has been continued to October. It will be a four day jury trial starting on Monday, October 13th. The next pretrial hearing for both Derek and JoAnn will take place on Friday, May 9th at 8:30 a.m. in the Circuit Courthouse on the corner of Main and Limestone in Lexington. Judge Travis is typically in Courtroom D on the 2nd floor. Parking garages are around the corner on Barr Street and across Main Street at the library.
Derek and JoAnn very much appreciate the moral support, we believe having supporters in the gallery changes the perceptions of both the judge and prosecutor, and witnessing the hearings (especially the post-hearing debriefs with defense attorney Kelly Kilgore) have been an exceptionally interesting learning experience. Please consider attending.
Don’t forget to support Oxbow Meats!
Thanks to everyone who attended the wonderful presentation from the Westfall family about Oxbow Meats! Lots of you wrote to say how grateful you were to have them with us. And thanks for the samples!
For those of you who could not make it . . .
More About Oxbow Meats In Their Own Words
Oxbow Meats: Locally owned, sustainable meat processing geared toward the small family farm!
Local Meat Done Right!
Oxbow Meats has a great selection of local fresh and frozen meat available every day! Or, if you want something a little different, give us a call or let us know and our experienced staff will work with you for the perfect roast or steak!
Kentucky Proud!
We also have a plethora of Kentucky Proud and other local items available for you! From local dairy and eggs, to great Kentucky snacks, or local fresh baked bread, to fresh picked produce, we can help you with that special meal or cookout!
When you think about priorities, food, shelter and medicine are at the top of the list. Thursday, we will focus on food, and we are honored to be joined by Josh Wesftall, who along with his wife Stacey and some like-minded investors, decided to open a USDA meat processing plant in Lawrenceburg. This enormous venture was conceived of during the COVID lockdowns and is the result of their desire to bring sustainable meat processing that is geared toward the small family farm to the under-served Central Kentucky region.
The Westfalls and this enterprise need and deserve our support, and we need them, so please come to learn about what they have to offer and how you can help ensure their success.
Want Real, Nutrient-Dense Food? Join us in the Kentucky Food Independence Club!
Kentucky agriculture remains the foundation of our culture: raising/growing nutrient dense food for home and/or market, maintaining strong family ties, respect for property, and a strong work ethic.
Our Mission is to connect Kentucky’s “real food” farmers to educated consumers. Real health begins with clean food. As more and more of us wake up to this fact, we see an increase in consumers wanting to leave behind unhealthy practices and jump in with local "real food" farmers!
What’s a real food farmer? By “real food”, we mean NUTRIENT DENSE food raised and/or grown as close to the earth and as naturally as possible. Like:
Non-GMO or organic feed
Pastured livestock on unsprayed fields
Grass-fed cattle, mostly grass-finished but occasionally some grain-on-grass-finished, as long as the grain is non-GMO or organic and the cattle continue to live on pasture with the sun shining on their backs.
Pastured milk cows - supplemented soy-free grains while milking to keep the cows happy and standing still
Unsprayed hay
Organic gardening practices
Regenerative soil practices
The KY Food Independence Club (KFIC) is a private membership food buying club featuring healthy food provided by Ky farmers. It’s like an online grocery only all the food is REAL & healthy. Nutrient dense foods like…
farm fresh raw milk & dairy products (butter, cream, yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream and more)
raw milk cheeses
pastured eggs
grass-fed, pastured meats
organic sourdough bread & other baked goods
local honey
