Elkhart County Sheriff Stands up for Food Freedom

Indiana farmer Richard Hochstetler was subpoenaed by the Department of Justice recently on behalf of the FDA to appear before a federal grand jury.  He was ordered to testify in court tomorrow concerning a foodborne illness outbreak that was linked to his Forest Grove Dairy by the USDA and other public health officials.  But yesterday he received a letter stating he did not have to appear in court at this time.

How did this happen?  What actions did Hochstetler take that made them retreat?  The answer may lay with the law of the land, the county Sheriff.   The Complete Patient reports that two letters were written from the Sheriff Brad Rogers to the Justice Department warning them to stop conducting inspections of Hochstetler's farm without a warrant from a local judge.   It was also reported that there was a debate over the limits of federal power and the U.S. Constitution with the Justice Department's, Ross Goldstein, a U.S. Justice Department trial attorney.

Sheriff Brad Rogers is member of the County Sheriff Project, a project that Richard Mack (one of the five Sheriffs that stood against the Brady Bill) and others began as an effort to educate its members on their oath to uphold the Constitution and stand up for the citizens against federal tyranny.

Elkhart County Sheriff Brad Rogers was well informed on the rights of his citizens and took action to protect them against the overreaching arms of the DOJ, the FDA, and the USDA.
