Non-violent Communication (NVC) Opportunity on September 26!
Non-violent Communication Group Meeting Invitation
Dear MAFA community!
Invitation to Join New NVC Group Lead by Gretchen
Non-violent Communication (NVC) Opportunity on September 26!
Our dear friend, Gretchen Shaffer Wahlstedt, who introduced us to Non-Violent Communication (NVC) last winter, has agreed to facilitate a twice-monthly drop-in NVC group for our members!
Non Violent Communication (NVC) is a personal practice that works to develop connection to ourselves and others. It is predicated on the idea that we all have more in common with one another than not, and that the path to peace, both internal and relational, is progressed through a deeper understanding of ourselves.
Sometimes referred to as Empathy Practice, it is a remarkably transformative practice that changes how you view the people in your life, past and present.
In spite of the name, it has nothing to do with learning to speak more politely, avoiding offending others, or prioritizing someone else’s feelings over your own. For more info, here is a link: https://www.cnvc.org/learn-nvc/what-is-nvc
The first session will be held on Thursday, September 26 at 6:00 p.m. at a location to be announced. If you think you’re interested in joining the group or have questions, please mark this on your calendars and be sure to e-mail Kathy Gornik at kathygornik2@gmail.com. Cost is $10/per session. Sessions can run one to two hours, and there is no required commitment.
We hope you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity!
