Are Blackrock & Vanguard Taking Over Centralized Food Production?
That’s the news from Mike Adams, the Health Ranger. Is he right? Well, it sorta looks like it. Along with Bill Gates. What do any of them know about farming?
The whole scenario would be completely terrifying if you didn’t know your SMALL, LOCAL farmer. Like the guy in the top picture: local, organic farmer growing and providing food to a local community.
The only “food production” B&V are buying up is Big Ag: large commodity farms growing GMO soybeans, cotton, corn, canola like in the bottom picture. They are also buying up large CAFO operations which raise livestock in cages. Small cages so the animals can’t move around so they will be fat for market.
Big Ag is THE Centralized Food Production. It supplies non-nutritious food to grocery stores, restaurants, & fast food. When a supply chain crisis hits, THESE are the places where it will hurt first.
Big Ag farms are also the ones that rely on nitrogen and fertilizer — these are the shortages we’ve read about coming from overseas. Most small farmers — and ALL “real food” farmers — don’t use these products. They use compost for fertilizer and nitrogen destroys the soil’s microbiome so that’s out.
So our immediate fears on the topic are relieved a little bit, but now is the time to set up an alternative food supply chain (hint: small local farmers).
Will B&V start buying up small family farms? What do you think?
PS. If & when there is a food crisis, please do not plan to rely on the kindness of strangers or the local Amish community or the farmer down the road (unless you are already a customer).
Strangers already have friends and family who are needy.
The local Amish will be taking care of their own community. This will not likely include any English no matter how close you are. Decisions in an Amish community are made by the community leaders, not your friend.
If the farmers down the road are still farming and have established customers, you wanna be one of them.
Phenomenal podcast on the topic: Joe Rogan interviews Will Harris, owner and farmer at White Oak Pastures (which provided some of the meats at the Weston A. Price Foundation conference last October). It’s a long interview, as usual, but listen in chunks. This is one every farmer and real foodie wants to hear! Listen up :)
