Friends of Newton’s Attic: Bluegrass Gives 2025!
TODAY ONLY THIS YEAR: Happening Now Tuesday 12/2!

Newton’s Attic works year-round to create programs that inspire young people, build real skills, and boost confidence. While program fees cover some costs, we simply couldn’t do what we do without the generosity of our donors. So much happens behind the scenes to make the “magic” possible, and our small team works incredibly hard because we see the lasting impact Newton’s Attic has on students and families.
Nothing is more rewarding than watching students return year after year, growing from campers into volunteers, staff members, and even parents, bringing their own children back to Newton’s Attic. After so many years, we’ve watched our young people become outstanding adults, many now working in engineering, science, and technology fields—some of them right here with us.
Families who move away tell us they can’t find anything like Newton’s Attic anywhere in the country. This year, a Rhode Island nonprofit even placed Newton’s Attic at the top of its five-state benchmarking tour, wanting to learn from what we’ve created here.
We are proud of the uniquely hands-on, imaginative STEM experiences we offer—and deeply grateful for the support that keeps them alive.
This Tuesday, December 2 — the annual Bluegrass Gives day of generosity —thanks to a pool of $500,000+ in matches and prizes provided by the Blue Grass Community Foundation (BGCF) and its sponsors, your donation has a multiplier effect.

This weekend: Sheri Quinn’s Annual Philharmonic Concert
Many of us have been multiple times, it is an amazing concert, so much love!
You all, I hope you’re sitting down for this. It turns out — you ARE sitting, right? — that glyphosate DOES cause cancer. It turns out the EPA was relying on a “safety” study falsified by — I know this sounds crazy — falsified by Monsanto. Video on X here.
I’m losing faith in big corporations to tell the truth.
Next they will be telling you that fluoride is indeed a toxic waste product and that smart meters are indeed dangerous to health and home, that the “safety” studies those government agencies relied on were falsified or cherry picked. Crazy times. I may need to stay in bed all day.
Two Special Mentions from Dawn ❄️
• The Christmas Tree Shop at Saxony Farm: Start a special new tradition and support a local family operation at the beautiful Saxony Farm. Enjoy the gorgeous setting, beautiful Christmas market, and wonderful hospitality. Bill, Dawn, and Kathy visited this past weekend and found the most beautiful selection of trees we have ever seen. Definitely a perfect pre-Christmas destination! Only through December 13th!
Located at 469 Browns Mill Road. They are open Monday-Friday 3pm-8pm, Saturdays 10am-8pm, and Sundays 12pm-6pm. Details HERE.
• The Historic Ward House B&B: Details HERE.
Owned by liberty loving friends of MAFA:
Historically recognized both locally and Nationally. Experience history in the horse country! Built in 1843 one of the oldest standing homes in Lexington. Built as a bed and breakfast history suggests Abraham Lincoln stayed in the home once upon a time. The underground railroad stopped here, marked by the now 200 year old towering Oak tree. The floor plan allows for large scale entertaining and separates public from private spaces.
You make a difference!
